Travelling to France, Portugal, UK, Morocco or another country with your dog or cat? You need the official CEXGAN health certificate. We handle everything.
The CEXGAN certificate is mandatory for travelling with pets outside Spain. Without it, your pet could be held at the border.
It is Spain's official health certification system for animal export. It issues the certificate proving your pet is healthy and meets the destination country's requirements.
Anyone travelling with a dog or cat outside Spain — whether within the EU (France, Portugal, Italy…) or outside (UK, USA, Morocco…).
Microchip identification, valid rabies vaccination (minimum 21 days before travel), up-to-date European Pet Passport and a vet check-up within 10 days of travel.
Without the CEXGAN your pet can be detained at the border, quarantined or returned to origin. Some countries also fine the owner.
Fill in the form or message us on WhatsApp with your destination and travel date. We'll confirm what you need.
We verify that your pet's EU passport, microchip and rabies vaccine are all in order. If anything is missing, we sort it out.
Clinical examination of your pet and issuance of the official health certificate. Must be done within 10 days of travel.
We help you with the process at the Official Veterinary Services (OVS) of the Community of Madrid for certificate endorsement.
Fill in these details and we'll contact you via WhatsApp to manage the whole process.
"They handled all the CEXGAN paperwork for us to travel to France with our dog. Super fast and they explained every step. We would have been lost without them."
CEXGAN (Certificado de Exportación de Ganado y Otros Animales) is the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture's official system for issuing animal export health certificates. For pets, it certifies that your dog or cat meets all health requirements to enter the destination country.
We recommend starting at least 1 month before travel. The vet check and certificate must be issued within 10 days of travel, but everything else must be in order first: microchip, rabies vaccine (minimum 21 days prior) and up-to-date EU pet passport.
No problem — we can vaccinate and update the passport. However, the vaccine must have been given at least 21 days before travel, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Within the EU you technically need the European Pet Passport with a valid rabies vaccine. However, some destinations or routes also require the CEXGAN health certificate. We'll advise you based on your specific destination.
Requirements outside the EU are stricter and vary greatly by country. Some require a rabies antibody titre test (a blood test with weeks of waiting time), specific parasite treatments or additional certificates. We'll tell you exactly what you need for your destination.
The cost depends on what your pet needs: if vaccines are up to date, it's just the check-up + certificate + validation fees. If additional vaccines or a microchip are needed, that's added. Ask us via WhatsApp and we'll give you an exact quote for your case.
Start the process now. The sooner you contact us, the easier it will be to have everything ready for your trip. We reply in minutes on WhatsApp.
