Do you have a Pit Bull, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire or other PPP breed? You need a specific licence. We help with all the vet requirements: microchip, vaccines, certificate and insurance guidance.
The potentially dangerous dog licence has specific requirements you must meet.
Your dog must be microchipped and registered in the official census (RIAC). We do it at Interzoo Viriato in 15 minutes.
Mandatory rabies + recommended multivalent. The health card must be current to obtain the licence.
A specific PPP liability insurance with minimum €120,000 coverage is mandatory. We guide you on where to get it.
You need a medical certificate of physical and psychological fitness (similar to a driving licence medical). Obtained at approved medical centres.
No convictions for animal-related offences or serious/very serious infractions.
The PPP licence must be renewed every 5 years. We remind you when it's due.
Tell us your dog's breed and whether they have microchip and vaccines. We check what's missing.
We implant microchip if needed, update vaccines and issue the vet certificate.
We tell you where to get the psychological certificate and PPP insurance.
With all documentation, you apply for the licence at your local district office. We explain how.
